The team, comprised of Dan Bolin, Kara Barnett, Kathin Renning and Jeremy Johnson, was coached by Pam Bolin. The competition included individual testing, individual questions and team questions on all aspects of the dairy industry. The Butler County team earned the right to represent Iowa at the national level by competing against other Iowa quiz bowl teams. The Iowa 4-H Foundation Dairy Endowment Fund sponsored a portion of the expenses of the trip. The team from Butler County placed third behind teams from Illinois and Minnesota. -30- eh
