8/4/00 News Release Contacts: 4-H Cookbook Gains National Recognition AMES, Iowa -- IOWA: A Taste of Home, the community cookbook from the Iowa 4-H Foundation, will be featured in America's Best Recipes - A 2000 Hometown Collection, Oxmoor House, Inc. America's Best Recipes showcases the very best recipes from outstanding community cookbooks from towns and cities across the country, according to Albert Grunenwald, associate director of the Iowa 4-H Foundation. America's Best Recipes salutes the dedicated volunteers whose successful cookbook sales raise funds to help meet the various needs of their communities. Recipes featured in America's Best Recipes are chosen by food experts representing cross-sections of the country. The recipes reflect the best of regional cuisines and current food trends as well as simply good home cooking.They are tested and rated by a staff of home economists, and only those recipes with the highest ratings are selected for publication. Among the nearly 400 recipes selected as one of "America's best" is the sampling from IOWA: A Taste of Home. The cookbook is one of 176 from across the nation to be so honored. IOWA: A Taste of Home can be purchased in the 4-H exhibit building at the Iowa State Fair or ordered through the Iowa 4-H Foundation at 515-294-1537. ml: isufarm |
