Web Page Addresses GMO Questions

AMES, Iowa - Frequently asked questions on genetically modified crops can be found on an Iowa State University Web page.

Located on the Iowa Grain Quality Initiative Web site at http://www.extension.iastate.edu/Pages/grain/news/gmo/gmoclist.htm, the page features commonly asked questions on marketing, production and legal issues. The questions are answered by Neil Harl, ISU distinguished professor of economics, Dale Farnham, ISU Extension agronomist and Roger Ginder, ISU Extension economist.

"The page features questions ranging from a neighbor's concern with pollen drift and cross-pollination to how to market GMO and non-GMO crops," said Charles Hurburgh Jr., professor-in-charge for the Iowa Grain Quality Initiative.

The site will be updated as questions arise on the issue, Hurburgh said.
