10/26/99 Contacts: Iowa Pork Industry Center Director Finalists Present ICN Seminars AMES, Iowa -- The three finalists for the Iowa Pork Industry Center (IPIC) director position will each present a seminar on the Iowa Communications Network (ICN) as part of their interview process beginning Nov. 3. The public is encouraged to attend. All three sessions will originate from the Iowa State University campus. David Meeker will present his seminar on Wed., Nov. 3, from 2-3 p.m. Meeker is associate professor of animal science and coordinator of the Ohio Pork Industry Center. He received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from ISU, and previously served as vice president for research and education for the National Pork Producers Council (NPPC). Other ICN locations for Meeker's presentation are Garner-Hayfield High School in Garner, Washington High School in Cherokee, Spencer High School and Kirkwood Community College ICN room 4 in Cedar Rapids. John Mabry's seminar will take place Wed., Nov. 10, from 2-3 p.m. Mabry is professor of animal and dairy science at the University of Georgia. He received his B.S. degree from Oklahoma State University, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from ISU. Mabry has worked extensively with NPPC and the National Swine Improvement Federation (NSIF). Other ICN locations for Mabry's presentation are Washington High School in Cherokee, Kirkwood Community College ICN room 4 in Cedar Rapids and the Spencer National Guard Armory. Archie Clutter's ICN seminar will be held Tues., Nov. 16, from 2-3 p.m. Clutter is professor of animal science at Oklahoma State University. He received his B.S. degree and did post-doctoral work at ISU, and received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Nebraska. Clutter has been actively involved with NPPC and NSIF, and his career has involved teaching and basic and applied research. The origination site for Clutter's seminar is 160 Scheman, with these other locations: Western Iowa Tech Community College in Cherokee, Kirkwood Community College ICN room 2 in Cedar Rapids and the Spencer National Guard Armory.
