10/19/99 Contacts: Subscribe to the Small Farm Digest AMES, Iowa -- Iowa farmers and ranchers can get free information on small-scale agriculture from the Small Farm Digest. The Small Farm Digest is an 8-page publication produced three times a year by the United States Department of Agriculture's Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service. Each issue provides articles on topics of importance to small-scale producers and relays their success stories, according to Jerry DeWitt, Iowa State University Extension sustainable agriculture specialist. This publication also includes media resources to assist small-scale farmers and ranchers, and grant, loan and training opportunities. Each issue lists upcoming events nationwide that would be of interest to the small-farm community.
