The definition includes anyone applying and/or handling manure for a commercial applicator business. Commercial applicators who are new employees have 30 days to become certified.

Commercial applicators must send in an application form with a $50 certification fee after passing the exam or taking the training session. They will receive their certificate within 30 days.

Confinement site applicators have until Oct. 1 to receive certification. Confinement site applicators can take one of the two-hour sessions offered in each county or pass a written exam to become certified. The confinement site certification exams will be announced at a future date. For more information contact your county ISU Extension office.
