2/23/99 Contacts: IPIC Offers "Feed to Field" Seminar AMES, Iowa -- Pork producers looking for the latest environmental information will want to attend the Iowa Pork Industry Center's upcoming seminar, "From Feed to Field, Environmental Strategies." The program also is cosponsored by Iowa State University and the Iowa Pork Producers Association, and will be held March 25 at the Holiday Inn Gateway Center in Ames. Speakers will address topics ranging from the impacts of state and federal clean air and water regulations to what's new with plant genetics in terms of diet components. Speakers include Wendy Powers of IPIC, Stan Bumen of Agren, Inc. and Tom Sauber of Optimum Grains. The program also includes short presentations by ISU Extension ag engineering and farm management field specialists, a veterinarian and an Iowa pork producer. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. The program begins at 9:30 a.m. and will end about 3:30 p.m. following a panel discussion. Included in the program are the noon meal, morning and afternoon refreshments and a copy of the proceedings. Attendance is free for those who preregister by March 15.
