12/27/99 Contacts: Beef Breeding Management Seminar Scheduled AMES, Iowa - Nationally recognized presenters will discuss the latest research and field trial updates at a Beef Breeding Management Seminar Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000. "This educational program is designed to provide Iowa seedstock and commercial beef producers with the most current knowledge and techniques to develop a successful breeding program," according to Byron Leu, Iowa State University Extension livestock field specialist. The program will feature the following speakers and topics: * Roy Wallace, Select Sires, Inc.: EPD's Made Easier "Current and newly developed breeding management strategies will be discussed at this seminar," stated Monica Young, Cow Herd Improvement Program (CHIPS) technician. "Iowa cow/calf producers will benefit from the practical applications of the selection and synchronization techniques that will be shared." The seminar will be held at the Scheman Center for Continuing Education at Iowa State University Jan. 29 from 1 to 4 p.m. and will be telecast over the Iowa Communication Network (ICN) at selected sites throughout the state. The Breeding Management Seminar is open to anyone interested in learning strategies to improve breeding performance. The seminar is sponsored jointly by CHIPS, the Iowa Beef Center and the ISU Department of Veterinary Diagnostics and Production Animal Medicine.
