12/1/99 Contacts: Dikeman New Iowa Beef Center Program Specialist AMES, Iowa -- Mark Dikeman has joined the Iowa Beef Center at Iowa State University as an extension program specialist. Dikeman, a native of Manhattan, Kan., received a bachelor's degree in animal science from Kansas State University in 1996. Currently he is finishing his master's thesis in agricultural economics from Kansas State. Dikeman worked as a research associate in the Kansas State Department of Economics from Oct. 1998 until he joined the Beef Center Nov. 1. Dikeman will develop management decision-making software, according to John Lawrence, Iowa Beef Center director. He also will work with data for Iowa Quality Beef, a cooperative effort between the Iowa Beef Center and the Iowa Cattlemen's Association, and conduct other data analysis. "Mark will be a key part of the Iowa Beef Center as it address opportunities and challenges facing Iowa cattle producers," Lawrence said. |
