Money 2000 Comes To The Web

Money 2000, Iowa State University Extension's saving and debt reduction effort, has come to the World Wide Web at <http://www.extension.iastate.edu/Pages/families/resmgt/Money2000/>.

The site provides background information about Money 2000 and allows people to create their own financial goals and enroll on the Web.

"Did you get a new computer during the holidays? Are looking for educational sites? Then check us out," said Elizabeth Kiss, Money 2000 coordinator and ISU Extension financial resource management specialist. "Money 2000 can help you find the discipline to pay off those credit card bills fast and get your finances under control. It's also a great site for those thinking about making a fresh financial start in the new year."

Money 2000, from ISU Extension, is designed to help individuals or households increase their savings and/or reduce their debt through the year 2000. Participants set their own goals. Those who enroll receive goal-setting information, a subscription to a quarterly newsletter and information about additional extension resources all at no charge. Participants periodically report their progress. The information is confidential.

More than 900 Iowans from 97 counties have enrolled in Money 2000 since it started in January 1998.

More information about Money 2000 is available from county extension offices. ISU Extension programs are open to all regardless of race, sex, disability, color, national origin or age.
