MEDIA ADVISORY -- NEWS CONFERENCE
Media Advisory: ISU Economist to Report Farmland Values on Dec. 15
A news conference to announce the results of the 1998 Iowa Farmland Value Survey conducted at Iowa State University is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15.
Michael Duffy, ISU Extension economist who directs the survey, will announce survey results at the news conference and also will participate in an Iowa Communications Network program at 7 p.m. He also will be available after the news conference for phone interviews at (515) 294-3000.
The news conference will be in a new location this year, Room 179 of the Scheman Continuing Education Center, just west of Hilton Coliseum at the ISU Center. Parking is available on the north side of the Scheman Building. Studio facilities in the former WOI building used in recent years are currently being remodeled and are not available for this year's news conference. The Scheman location will have a mult box available for media use.
A printed news release with data from all 99 counties and state maps will be available. Duffy also will have background material.
Land value survey data from 1994-1997 is available on ISU Extension's web site at www.exnet.iastate.edu under the publications link. The site also has a link to yearly data back to 1950. The 1998 information will be posted on Dec. 15.
A news release on the 1998 survey results and a table with data for all 99 Iowa counties will be released to the media through The Link at 10 a.m. Dec. 15.
