Dee Ann has worked at ISU for 20 plus years. Dee started her career working at WOI – TV as a Purchasing/Accounting Clerk. She did purchase orders for everything from record albums for WOI Radio, supplies for the Magic Window set, camera film for Dennis Douda, producer of “Douda’s People”, to million dollar contracts to purchase re-runs of The Bill Cosby Show and M.A.S.H. When WOI-TV was sold to Capital, Dee Ann took a transfer within ISU to the Inventory Department. After working for 5 years in Inventory doing the paperwork and accounting for every piece of equipment on Campus with a value of over $500.00, she transferred to the Engineering Advising Center in Marston. While in Marston, she was responsible to keep the files on over 1,000 incoming freshman engineering students. Dee Ann loved working with the students, advising parents when they asked her questions, learning about financial aid and scholarships. She was constantly busy with class changes, dropped classes, graduation audit reports and orientation days in the summer. Being in the middle of the academia portion of ISU, was exciting and challenging.
She is now happily doing accounting work in Communications and Marketing. Dee Ann is responsible to track all the costs involved with getting a publication printed and out to the public. She maintains databases that generate information to all departments in Extension that reflect the cost and balances left in their publications’ budgets.
