Volunteer Income Tax Assistance sites are open across the state to help individuals and families who have incomes at or below $51,000 file their tax returns at no cost. Iowa State University Extension and Outreach assisted a number of communities with establishing these sites to provide the service.
18 Libraries Begin Smart Investing Program

Extension Welcomes New Addition to Family Finance Team

Suzanne Bartholomae is the newest addition to the family finance team at Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. The new ISU Extension specialist is part of the Department of Human Development and Family Studies at Iowa State, and will take over Pat Swanson’s responsibilities upon her retirement in December.

Iowa’s Sales Tax Holiday is Aug. 3-4. Consumers should plan ahead to get the most for their money during this annual sales tax exempt shopping weekend, said Susan Taylor, a family finance specialist with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.
