Iowa State to Establish Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Network

Iowa State University will be establishing the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Network with a $250,000 grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration. The grant was awarded to the ISU Extension and Outreach Center for Industrial Research and Service.
CIRAS Annual Review of Manufacturing Available Online

An annual review of manufacturing by the Iowa State University Center for Industrial Research and Service shows that Iowa’s manufacturing sector continued its post-recession recovery, adding jobs through 2011. Employment in this sector, however, is still 10 percent lower than prerecession levels in 2007.

Food Facilities Must Register with FDA by Dec. 31, 2012

All facilities that manufacture, process, pack or hold food (human and animal) within the United States are required to register with the Food and Drug Administration in accordance with the Food Safety Modernization Act. ISU Extension and Outreach has a registration tutorial and a checklist for assessing food safety preparedness available online.
