Field Day Addresses Issues Every Beef Producer Faces

AMES, Iowa – An upcoming Iowa Beef Center and Iowa State University Extension field day will help producers tackle issues ranging from hay waste to pink eye.
The McNay Memorial Research Farm fall field day will be held Sept. 23 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Attendees will be treated to a free meal served at the farm in Lucas County, Iowa.
Event topics to be addressed by livestock experts are sure to help producers handle problems they commonly see this time of year and include:
- feeding co-products to extend grass and improve performance
- renovating fescue pastures with the “spray/smother/spray” method
- reducing hay feeding waste
- managing pink eye strategies
- storing wet distillers grains to extend feed usage

The Iowa Beef Center at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, was established in 1996 with the goal of supporting the growth and vitality of the state’s beef cattle industry.
