Registration open for June Cattle Feeders Conference
AMES, Iowa -- It is easy to register for the upcoming Iowa Beef Center summer conference on managing feedlot operations. Interested individuals are encouraged to sign up early to take advantage of reduced hotel and registration rates.
The conference, held in partnership with the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association, will be June 10 -11, 2009 at the Holiday Inn in Ames. Entitled “Cattle Feeders’ Conference: A New Era of Management – People, Cattle, Business,” the two-day event will provide cattle feeders with valuable information for tackling today’s troubles.
Those wishing to attend can access the conference brochure and registration form on the Iowa Beef Center Web site, www.iowabeefcenter.org, or call 515-294-BEEF to sign up. Registration before May 29, 2009, is $75; after this date and at the door the cost is $100. The Holiday Inn is holding a block of rooms at a special rate for conference attendees through May 20.
The conference speakers will touch on issues ranging from the livestock industry’s carbon footprint to labor and employee relations. A detailed agenda with all of the speakers and presentations listed is available in the conference brochure on the Iowa Beef Center homepage.

The Iowa Beef Center at Iowa State University in Ames was established in 1996 with the goal of supporting the growth and vitality of the state’s beef cattle industry.
