Extension Begins Selection Process for Director of Field Operations
AMES, Iowa --- Five candidates have applied for the position of Iowa State University Extension Director of Field Operations. This position, created in the restructuring plan, was opened to Area and County Extension Education Directors whose positions were eliminated by the plan. Applicants include Area Extension Education Directors Sherry Glenn, Alan Ladd and Don Nitchie and County Extension Education Directors Sherry McGill and Gary Hall.
Glenn is currently the director for the Central Area, Ladd serves the Southwest Area and Nitchie directs the Northwest Area. Hall has served as the Cerro Gordo County director since 2008 and McGill as the director in Woodbury County since 2005.
The Director of Field Operations will be responsible for supervising all the activities of the 20 Regional Extension Education Directors and for ensuring that capacity to initiate educational programming is maintained at county and multi-county levels across the state. Candidate interviews are being scheduled to accommodate a June 1 start date.
