Marion County 4-H’er Receives Pioneer Community College 4-H Scholarship
AMES, Iowa – A $500 scholarship has been awarded to a Marion County 4-H member. Elizabeth Van Gorp, Pella, has received a Pioneer Community College 4-H Scholarship, sponsored by Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc.
Van Gorp, a nine-year 4-H member, is the daughter of Tim and Sue Van Gorp. She has been involved in the horse, swine, rabbit and photography project areas and has been awarded the communications seal of excellence. She also has held the positions of president and vice president in her club and served on her county 4-H council.
“4-H has taught me how to work hard,” said Van Gorp. “I see its teachings in my everyday life as well as in my job.”
A recent graduate of Pella Community High School, Van Gorp plans to attend Indian Hills Community College in the fall.
