Washington County 4-H’er Receives Pioneer Community College 4-H Scholarship


AMES, Iowa – A $500 scholarship has been awarded to a Washington County 4-H member. Timothy Messenger, Keota, has received a Pioneer Community College 4-H scholarship sponsored by Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc. 

Messenger, a nine-year member, is the son of Tom and Cindy Messenger. He has been involved in the market beef, swine, sheep and livestock judging project areas and has held the position of president in his club and county 4-H council. He also has been a member of his area 4-H council and county youth committee and attended the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference.

“4-H has taught me many leadership and communication skills that will prepare me for my future,” said Messenger. “I will use these skills to further my education this fall.”

A recent graduate of Keota High School, Messenger plans to attend Hawkeye Community College in animal science.
