AMES, Iowa – A $500 scholarship has been awarded to a Warren County 4-H member. Allison Henry, Indianola, has received a Pioneer Community College 4-H scholarship sponsored by Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc.
Henry, a nine-year member, is the daughter of Keith and Marie Henry. She has been involved in the market swine, beef, horse and home improvement project areas and has received a proficiency award and runner-up county fair queen honors. She also has held the positions of club president and vice president and served on her county and area 4-H councils and county youth committee.
“4-H has made a huge impact on my life.” said Henry. “I have learned to do many things such as woodworking, livestock and learning how to complete financial records -- skills that will be a benefit for my whole life.”
A recent graduate of Indianola High School, Henry plans to attend Des Moines Area Community College in agricultural business.
