Delaware County 4-H’er Receives Pioneer Community College 4-H Scholarship

AMES, Iowa – A $500 scholarship has been awarded to a Delaware County 4-H member. Jamie Helmrichs, Manchester, has received a Pioneer Community College 4-H scholarship sponsored by Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc.
Helmrichs, a nine-year member, is the son of Gary and Shirley Helmrichs. He has been involved in the swine, poultry, rabbit, citizenship and project areas and has received the “I Dare You” Award and honors in citizenship, swine and leadership projects. He also has held the position of president in his club, served as a county youth committee member and attended the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference.
“4-H has given me the skills that I need to be successful in my academics, extracurricular activities and my future career,” said Helmrichs.
A recent graduate of West Delaware High School, he plans to attend Kirkwood Community College in agricultural business.
