Mahaska County 4-H’er Receives Pioneer Community College 4-H Scholarship


AMES, Iowa – A $500 scholarship has been awarded to a Mahaska County 4-H member.  Samuel Groenenboom, Oskaloosa, has received a Pioneer Community College 4-H scholarship sponsored by Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc. 

Groenenboom, a nine-year member, is the son of Joel and Laura Groenenboom. He has been involved in the market swine project and his county council.  He has been awarded intermediate and senior showmanship awards and has held the position of vice president in his club. 

“Through 4-H, I believe I have been able to discover a career path that I will enjoy and thrive in,” said Groenenboom.

A recent graduate of Pella Christian High School, Groenenboom plans to attend Kirkwood Community College in agronomy.
