Iowa County 4-H’er Receives Pioneer Community College 4-H Scholarship
AMES, Iowa – A $500 scholarship has been awarded to an Iowa County 4-H member. Tia Grabau, Williamsburg, received a Pioneer Community College 4-H scholarship sponsored by Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc.
Grabau, a nine-year member, is the daughter of Allen and Linda Grabau. She has been involved in the goat, photography, visual arts, home improvement and poultry project areas at the state level.
“4-H has shown me how to take responsibility and feel great pride for what has been accomplished. When you work hard on your project and the work pays off you feel awesome. You know that it was worth it and you learn a lot along the way,” she said.
A recent graduate of Williamsburg High School, Grabau plans to attend Kirkwood Community College to major in agriculture.
In Iowa, the 4-H program is a part of the Iowa State University Extension and headquartered on the ISU campus in Ames. For more information about 4-H, how to get involved or how to apply for a 4-H scholarship contact the local county office of ISU Extension.
