Johnson County 4-H’er Receives Pioneer Community College Scholarship

AMES, Iowa – A $500 scholarship has been awarded to a Johnson County 4-H member. Alyssa Foster, Riverside, received a Pioneer Community College scholarship sponsored by Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc.
Foster, an eight-year member, is the daughter of Jeff and Tammy Foster. She has been involved in the food and nutrition, photography, goat and pony project areas and has received a state horse project award. She also has been a member of county, area and state 4-H council and her county youth committee and held the positions of club president and vice president.
“4-H has given me the confidence and self motivation to reach my goals. Through my 4-H experience I have become a positive member in my community and club,” said Foster.
A recent graduate of Mid-Prairie High School, Foster plans to attend Kirkwood Community College in agricultural education.
