Montgomery County 4-H’er Receives Orscheln 4-H Scholarship


AMES, Iowa – A $1,000 scholarship has been awarded to a Montgomery County 4-H member. Jared Dolch, Elliott, has received an Orscheln 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Orscheln Farm and Home Supply Co. Inc. 

Dolch, a nine-year member, is the son of Vince and Becky Dolch. He has been involved in the beef and visual arts project areas and has received state awards in science, mechanics and engineering, food and nutrition and woodworking, where one of his projects was selected to be displayed at the Iowa 4-H Headquarters. He also has held the positions of president and vice-president in his 4-H club and served on his county 4-H council.

“4-H has been an integral part of the development of my character as well as my future plans,” Dolch said.  “It has provided me with the ability to discover and develop my aptitudes and interest through active participation.”

A recent graduate of Villisca Community High School, Dolch plans to attend Iowa State University in agricultural engineering.
