Montgomery County 4-H Member Receives Tobin 4-H Scholarship


AMES, Iowa – A $1,000 scholarship has been awarded to a Montgomery County 4-H member. Krista Frazee, Emerson, has received the Tobin 4-H Scholarship sponsored by the Tobin Family in honor of J. Kelly and Irene Tobin.

Frazee, a nine-year member, is the daughter of William and Debora Frazee. She was involved in the horse and visual arts project areas and received state recognition in beef, citizenship and leadership projects. A county and area 4-H council member, she served as club president and received the “I Dare You,” Ak-Sar-Ben, outstanding senior and hall of fame awards along with nine years of record book honors at the local level. Frazee also attended the Citizenship-Washington Focus and the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference.

“4-H has and continues to open many doors for me including national trips, internships and being able to work with outstanding individuals all across the state who share the same passion for positive youth development,” she said.

A senior at  Iowa State University, Frazee is majoring in public service administration in agriculture. She has been a member of Collegiate 4-H and Collegiate Beef Team, while serving as president of the public service and administration club, secretary of the ISU College of Ag student council and representative for Collegiate 4-H on the Iowa 4-H Youth Leadership Council.
