Marion County 4-H Member Receives Theisen 4-H Scholarship
AMES, Iowa – A $500 scholarship has been awarded to a Marion County 4-H member. Meagan Riebhoff, Melcher, has received a Theisen Home Farm Auto 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Theisen Supply Inc.
Riebhoff, a nine-year member, is the daughter of Michael and Lisa Riebhoff. She has been involved in the dog, rabbit and pet project areas where she received state recognition for an indoor project and high honors in dog agility, novice and graduate novice at the local level. Riebhoff also has served on her county 4-H council, county youth committee and as president and vice president of her club.
“4-H has truly been one of the greatest experiences in my life,” she said. “If not for 4-H I would not have known how to shave a steer properly or handle a rabbit in its show form or best of all, how to use patience and understanding with my dog. 4-H has made me into a great person and an even better leader.”
A recent graduate of Melcher-Dallas High School, Riebhoff plans to attend Kirkwood Community College and pursue veterinary assistance.
In Iowa, the 4-H program is a part of Iowa State University Extension and headquartered on the ISU campus in Ames. For more information about 4-H, how to get involved or how to apply for a 4-H scholarship, contact the local county office of ISU Extension.
