Benton County 4-H’er Receives Theisen 4-H Scholarship
AMES, Iowa – A $1,000 scholarship has been awarded to a Benton County 4-H member. Tyler Krug, Newhall, has received a Theisen Home Farm Auto 4-H scholarship sponsored by Theisen Supply Inc.
Krug, a nine-year member, is the son of Jim and Gina Krug. He has been involved in the photography, woodworking and bucket bottle project areas and has been awarded beef showmanship honors at both the state and local level. A county 4-H council member, he also has received the county achievement award and served as club president and vice president.
“4-H has given me many opportunities and unforgettable experiences,” said Krug. “After graduation I will use the skills and knowledge I have obtained through 4-H and carry them into my academic career in college to continue to give back to my community.”
A recent graduate of Benton Community High School, Krug plans to enroll at Iowa State University in agricultural engineering.
