Webster County 4-H Member Receives Persinger-Asmus 4-H Scholarship
AMES, Iowa – A $500 scholarship has been awarded to a Webster County 4-H member. Jeremy Weiss, Barnum, has received the Persinger-Asmus 4-H Scholarship sponsored by the Persinger and Asmus families.
Weiss, a nine-year member, is the son of Jeff and Denise Weiss. He received awards in the communications, photography, leadership and citizenship project areas and attended the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference and Citizenship-Washington Focus. A county, area and state 4-H council member, Weiss also served as club president, an Iowa 4-H Foundation Trustee and on his county youth committee.
“The 4-H program has helped to develop me into the person I am today,” he said. “It has given me many opportunities I greatly value.”
A junior at Iowa State University, Weiss is majoring in management and has been involved in Collegiate 4-H, VEISHEA, the ISU Blood Drive and the Gerdin Citizenship Program.
