Boone County 4-H Member Receives Oster Journalism 4-H Scholarship
AMES, Iowa – A $1,500 scholarship has been awarded to a Boone County 4-H member. Hallie Satre, Ogden, has received the Oster Journalism 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Merrill J. Oster.
Satre, a nine-year member, is the daughter of Steve and Mona Satre. She was involved in the aerospace, communications, clothing, citizenship and child development project areas and received state seals of excellence and merit for educational presentations and a state project award in aerospace. A county 4-H council member, Satre also served as club president and was awarded the Boone County Outstanding Sixer, Ensley Club Citizenship and freshman and graduate awards.
“I have used the communication skills and values of citizenship instilled in me by 4-H to become a leader in and out of the classroom at Iowa State University,” she said.
A junior at ISU, Satre is majoring in earth science and journalism and mass communications and has been involved in the Cyclone Marching Band, VEISHEA Executive Board, Honors Program and as a student representative for the ISU Admissions Department.
