Cass County 4-H Member Receives Mahr 4-H Scholarship

AMES, Iowa – A $5,756 scholarship has been awarded to a Cass County 4-H member. Courtney Blake, Ames, has received a Mahr Family 4-H Scholarship sponsored by the Marvin Sr. and Frederica Mahr family.
Blake, a nine-year member, is the daughter of Roger and Gerri Blake, Walnut. She was involved in the beef, sheep and communications project areas and served as a delegate for the National 4-H Congress. A county, area and state 4-H council member, Blake also was a part of her county youth committee and attended the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference.
“4-H has greatly helped to shape my life by providing me with leadership, citizenship and communication skills and opportunities I wouldn’t have had otherwise,” she said.
Blake recently completed her first year at the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
