Cass County 4-H Member Receives Gauger 4-H Scholarship


AMES, Iowa – A $750 scholarship has been awarded to a Cass County 4-H member. Curtis Ullerich, Wiota, has received the C. J. Gauger 4-H Scholarship sponsored by 4-H alumni contributions to the Iowa 4-H Foundation Scholarship Endowment Fund.

Ullerich, a nine-year member, is the son of Chris and Gwen Ullerich. He has been involved in the communication and food and nutrition project areas and has received the horse high-point showman award on the local level. On the state level Ullerich has been awarded a purple ribbon in horse showmanship, a state project music award and a visual arts award at the Iowa State Fair. A county, area and state 4-H council member, he also has attended the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference, served as president of his club and been a member of his county youth committee.

“4-H gave me the push to become active in my community and involved in activities. I greatly appreciate that 4-H made me a productive and out-going person,” he said.

A recent graduate of Atlantic High School, Ullerich plans to attend Iowa State University to major in engineering.
