Worth County 4-H Member Receives Alumni 4-H Scholarship


AMES, Iowa – A $500 scholarship has been awarded to a Worth County 4-H member. Shea Kruger, Grafton, has received an Alumni 4-H Scholarship sponsored by 4-H alumni contributions to the Iowa 4-H Foundation Scholarship Endowment Fund.

Kruger, a nine-year member, is the daughter of Neil and Laurene Kruger. She has been involved in the health and horse project areas and received state project awards in communications, leadership and citizenship. She also has been awarded grand champion sheep showmanship and TAP awards at the local level. A county, area and state 4-H council member, Kruger has served as both club and county council president and attended the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference, National 4-H Conference and National 4-H Congress.

“4-H shaped me into the person that I am today,” she said. “It’s helped me to become involved and give back to others. I’ve also developed leadership and communication skills that will be valuable to me for the rest of my life”

A recent graduate of St. Ansgar High School, Kruger plans to attend Wartburg College to major in biology.
