Emmet County 4-H’er Receives Alumni 4-H Scholarship

AMES, Iowa – A $500 scholarship has been awarded to an Emmet County 4-H member.  Melissa Radmaker, Estherville, received an Alumni 4-H Scholarship sponsored by 4-H alumni contributions to the Iowa 4-H Foundation Scholarship Endowment Fund.

Radmaker, a nine-year member, is the daughter of Paul and Christina Radmaker.  She has been involved in the visual arts, photography, home improvement and woodworking project areas and received state recognition for various projects. She also has been awarded first place for historian and secretary’s books at the local level while serving as club president.

“I have had so many opportunities throughout my 4-H years that have allowed me to better myself as a 4-H’er and as a citizen,” said Radmaker. “4-H has taught me to do what I can to better myself and those around me.”

A recent graduate of Estherville Lincoln Central High School, Radmaker plans to continue her education at Iowa Lakes Community College.

In Iowa, the 4-H program is a part of Iowa State University Extension and headquartered on the ISU campus in Ames.  For more information about 4-H, how to get involved or how to apply for a 4-H scholarship contact the local county office of ISU Extension.
