Lupkes Completes Term on ISU Extension’s Citizens Advisory Council

AMES, Iowa – Jayne Lupkes, Joice, has completed her term on Iowa State University Extension’s Citizens Advisory Council.

“ISU Extension has appreciated Jayne’s advice and counsel over these past three years,” said Jack Payne, vice president for ISU Extension and Outreach.

The Citizens Advisory Council is helping ISU Extension effectively communicate and extend Iowa State University to the people of Iowa, Payne added. ISU Extension works to improve quality of life in Iowa by promoting healthy people, supporting healthy environments and advancing healthy economies.

The council members are appointed by the vice president for ISU Extension and Outreach and serve three-year terms. The council members meet twice a year and share their perspectives, counsel and strategic insights with ISU Extension.

The first Citizens Advisory Council was appointed in 1944 for “the purpose of bringing to the Cooperative Extension Service Administration counsel, advice and reflection on Extension programs.” Since that time, despite changes in size, make up, function and purpose, each council has continued to be a key and consistent link between ISU Extension Administration and the citizens of Iowa, Payne said.
