ISU Extension Offers Soil Fertility Short Course

AMES, Iowa – With high input costs and volatile nutrient prices it’s more important than ever to make sound management decisions about soil fertility. Iowa State University Extension will be offering a two-day short course focusing on principles of soils, soil fertility and nutrient management to help crop production professionals make better decisions. In addition to classroom work attendees also will be visiting the ISU Soil and Plant Analysis Laboratory.

The Soil Fertility and Nutrient Management Short Course will be held Feb. 17-18 at the Knapp-Storms Dining Complex on the ISU campus in Ames. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 17 with classwork beginning at 9 a.m.; the course ends at 4:30 p.m. on Feb 18. Registration is limited to 40 participants and pre-registration is required. The program brochure and registration form are posted on the Web at www.aep.iastate.edu.

The cost is $275. Registration and fees must be received by Feb. 11. Registrations will not be accepted at the door for this program. The fees cover a reference notebook, lunches and breaks.
