Dairy Beef Feeding Meeting in Oelwein Feb. 26

NEW HAMPTON, Iowa --- Iowa State University Extension dairy specialists are offering a Dairy Beef Feeding meeting Feb. 26 in Oelwein, Iowa. The meeting for dairy beef feedlot operators and agricultural professionals will be held at Two Brothers Restaurant, 2 South Frederick Avenue, Oelwein, Iowa.
The meeting will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with refreshments and registration starting at 9:30 a.m. Pre-registration deadline is Feb. 20, 2009. The registration fee is $20.
Meeting topics, to be presented by Dale Thoreson and Robert Tigner, ISU Extension dairy field specialists, will include
• Nutrition and Management of Dairy Steers
• Cost of Production and Risk Management Strategies
• Carcass Characteristics and Packer Expectations
