Sac County 4-H'er Earns Communication Project Award
AMES, Iowa – Kent Irwin of Sac County received a state 4-H communication project award that includes a $100 savings bond from the Mary Jo and Glen Mente Endowment and the Iowa 4-H Foundation. Irwin, 17, is the son of Chris and Susan Irwin of Sac City.
During six years in 4-H, Irwin has completed several major projects including communication, citizenship, leadership, photography, and food and nutrition. He has received several honors at the state level including state 4-H project awards in communication and the Seal of Excellence for an educational presentation. He also has been awarded for record keeping and educational presentations at the county level. Irwin has served as first aid and sentinel of his local 4-H club and served on the county and area 4-H council, and participated in the Citizenship-Washington Focus and the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference.
Irwin is a junior at East Sac County High School.
