Buena Vista 4-H'er Earns Citizenship Project Award
AMES, Iowa – Austin Ehlers of Buena Vista County received a state 4-H citizenship project award that includes a $100 savings bond from the Mary Jo and Glen Mente Endowment and the Iowa 4-H Foundation. Ehlers, 15, is the son of Brent and Carol Ehlers.
A six-year member, Ehlers has been involved in the beef, leadership, woodworking and photography project areas and has received the third place in both state livestock judging and state sanctioned livestock judging. He has also been awarded the Sump Memorial Award, Arlene Rohlk food Prize Memorial, junior leadership award, intermediate achievement award and intermediate beef showmanship award all at the county level. A county 4-H council member, Ehlers has served on the National 4-H Technology GPS/GIS Leadership Team, as a host for the 4-H Exchange program, as the northwest 4-H technology team treasurer and as his club’s president and treasurer.
Ehlers is a sophomore at Sioux Central High School.
