AMES, Iowa – Twenty-two Iowa youth have been selected as delegates for the 2008 National 4-H Congress set for Nov. 28 – Dec. 2 in Atlanta, Ga.

“National 4-H Congress is an amazing opportunity for Iowa 4-H’ers,” according to Brenda Allen, Iowa State University Extension 4-H youth developmental specialist.  “Not only do youth meet delegates from across the country, they also have the opportunity to hear nationally renowned speakers and participate in thought-provoking workshops.”

Workshop topics include team building, leadership skills and community service.  Delegates are selected based on overall achievement in the 4-H program, particularly outstanding leadership and service in their local club, county and beyond.

Two adults also will attend the event.  Kendra Crooks and Jeff Macomber, ISU Extension youth development field specialists, will accompany the Iowa delegates.
