Story County 4-H'er to Attend National 4-H Congress in Atlanta

AMES, Iowa – Molly Foley of Story County has been selected to represent Iowa at the National 4-H Congress in Atlanta, Ga., Nov. 28 – Dec. 2. She is sponsored by the Iowa 4-H Foundation National 4-H Congress Endowment. Foley, 16, is the daughter of Leonard and Patricia Foley of Huxley.

Foley will join 22 other youth from Iowa at the leadership conference, entitled “Accept the Challenge.”  Iowa’s Congress delegates are selected through interviews and evaluation of support materials. Foley, a junior at Ballard High School, was chosen for her leadership, citizenship and overall achievement in the 4-H program.

During her 10 years in 4-H, Foley has completed several major projects including citizenship, communication, beef, sheep and horse. She has received state 4-H honors including a project award for communication and seals of excellence for educational presentations. Along with these, Foley has received awards at the county level such as livestock achievement award, Story County Leadership Team and Champion Intermediate Horse Judging. She served treasurer and secretary for her 4-H club.  She also participated in county 4-H council and state 4-H council.

“4-H has helped me learn to always try my best and never give up,” Foley said.
