AMES, Iowa – Paige Pangburn of Worth County has been selected to represent Iowa at the National 4-H Congress in Atlanta, Ga., Nov. 28 – Dec. 2. She is sponsored by the Iowa 4-H Foundation National 4-H Congress Endowment. Pangburn, 17, is the daughter of Bryn and Donnie Pangburn of Northwood.
Pangburn is one of 22 youth from Iowa attending the leadership conference, entitled “Accept the Challenge.” Iowa’s Congress delegates are selected through interviews and evaluation of support materials. Pangburn, a senior at Northwood - Kensett High School, was chosen for her leadership, citizenship and overall achievement in the 4-H program.
During her eight years, Pangburn has completed several major projects including cattle, swine, horse and visual arts. She has received state 4-H honors including horse, cattle and swine project awards. At the local level, Pangburn has received recognition as a junior premiere exhibitor. She served as vice-president of her 4-H club. She also participated in county 4-H council, area 4-H council, state 4-H council, the National 4-H Conference, National 4-H Congress and the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference.
“4-H has given me the chance to meet new people and work toward important goals in my life,” Pangburn said. “I wouldn’t get to participate in all these activities without 4-H.”
