3/6/2008
AMES, Iowa--4-H'ers who have never visited the Iowa 4-H Center may want to take up the coupon offer being made to 4-H clubs across the state.
“Our hope is that this coupon will help attract more 4-H’ers to the come check out their 4-H camp,” said Iowa 4-H Center Camp Manager John Roosa. “We want all 4-H’ers to experience the Center.”
Clubs will have the opportunity to visit the 4-H Center, hold retreats and meetings, participate in camp programs while enjoying the camp facilities for very little cost.
The intention of the free rental offer is to give all 4-H’ers from across the state an opportunity to visit and enjoy the Iowa 4-H Center. In return, Roose said, the hope is that 4-H’ers will feel welcome at the 4-H Center and take advantage of the various summer camp programs and opportunities.
The Iowa 4-H Center does ask that club members schedule time during their stay to volunteer or donate items from the Iowa 4-H Center’s wish list.
Campers also will have the opportunity to talk with members of the camp staff about the Iowa 4-H Center’s history, activities, camps and Junior Counselor programs.
The coupon may be used only once per year by 4-H clubs from August 15 through May 15. The free day use is for lodging only and charges will apply for programs and meals.
