Carbon Economy Policy Issues Subject of Midwest Summit
12/1/2008
AMES, Iowa -- Midwest agriculture holds a wealth of opportunity in the emerging and dynamic carbon economy. Energy industry leaders and those involved in agriculture are invited to attend the Third Annual Midwest Ag Energy Network Summit, Dec. 15 and 16 at Crowne Plaza O’Hare in Rosemont, Ill., to discuss agriculture and energy policies that impact the development of the carbon economy and the Midwest's energy future.
The conference speakers and sessions will share information that can help lead the Midwest to a brighter future in the emerging carbon economy. Online pre-summit registration, http://www.midwestagenergy.net/summit-Third-registration.html, is available until Dec. 5. Registration also will be available at the door, but will cost more.
“Summit participants will have the prospect of identifying emerging carbon policy questions,” said Gerald Miller, director of Iowa State University Extension to Agriculture and Natural Resources. “These issues will lay the groundwork for future policy work in this rapidly evolving carbon economy.”
The summit will bring together more than 200 Midwestern agriculture leaders to examine how regional networks are shaping, and will continue to shape, agriculture and energy policies. These conversations will impact the energy future and the development of the carbon economy. Hotel registration and other details are available at the summit Web site. http://www.midwestagenergy.net/summit-Third-intro.html
