Mills County 4-H'er Receives Pioneer Community College Scholarship
AMES, Iowa – A $500 scholarship has been awarded to a Mills County 4-H member. Sara Sell, Glenwood, received a Pioneer Community College 4-H Scholarship sponsored by Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc.
Sell, a nine-year 4-H member, is the daughter of Steve and Judy Sell, and Shannon McCaslin. She has participated most actively in the project areas of swine, sheep, food nutrition and woodworking. She received awards for swine showmanship and Grand Champion Market Lamb. She served as president, vice-president and secretary of her local 4-H club, and served on the county 4-H council, county youth committee, area 4-H council and the Citizenship-Washington Focus.
“The 4-H program has helped me to develop my leadership skills and made me a responsible young adult,” Sell said.
A recent graduate of Glenwood High School, Sell plans to attend Kirkwood Community College.
