Dickinson County 4-H'er Receives Iowa State Fair Scholarship
AMES, Iowa – A $1,000 scholarship has been awarded to a Dickinson County 4-H member. Andrew Pringnitz, Spirit Lake, received an Iowa State Fair 4-H Scholarship sponsored by the Iowa Foundation for Agriculture Advancement.
Pringnitz, a nine-year 4-H member, is the son of Doug and Nancy Pringnitz. He has participated most actively in the project areas of beef, leadership and communications. He has exhibited at the county and state levels. At the state levels, he received the blue ribbon for raising 40 acres of corn.
“4-H has given me the opportunity to learn more about the two areas I have a passion for -- agriculture and business. Through my crop production and beef projects, I have developed a strong interest in many aspects of agriculture,” Pringnitz said.
A recent graduate of Spirit Lake High School, Pringnitz plans to major in agricultural business at Iowa State University.
In Iowa, the 4-H program is a part of Iowa State University Extension and headquartered on the ISU campus in Ames. For more information about 4-H, how to get involved, or how to apply for a 4-H scholarship, contact the local county office of ISU Extension.
