Ida County 4-H'er Receives Iowa State Fair Scholarship

AMES, Iowa – A $1,000 scholarship has been awarded to an Ida County 4-H member. Adam Dreeszen, Cushing, received an Iowa State Fair Scholarship sponsored by the Iowa Foundation for Agriculture Advancement.
Dreeszen, a nine-year 4-H member, is the son of Roger and Mary Dreeszen. He has participated in communications, livestock, citizenship and self-determined projects. He received recognition for Outstanding 4-H Member, Top County Extemporaneous Speaking, Share the Fun, educations presentations and clothing selection. He served as president, vice-president and historian for his local club. He also participated in the county, area and state 4-H councils; county youth committee; National 4-H Congress; Citizenship-Washington Focus and the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference.
“4-H has made me the person that I am today by teaching me responsibility, leadership, respect and effective communication,” Dreeszen said. “4-H has taught me many social and life skills that I will continue to use the rest of my days.”
A recent graduate of Galva-Holstein High School, Dreeszen plans on attending Iowa State University with a major in agricultural engineering.
