Blackhawk County 4-H Member Receives Duroe Scholarship

AMES, Iowa – A $500 scholarship has been awarded to a Blackhawk County 4-H member. Anna Wolfe, Hudson, has received the Duroe 4-H Scholarship sponsored by the Duroe Family.

Wolfe, a nine-year 4-H member, is the daughter of Kent and Diane Wolfe. She has been active in the home improvement, photography, food and nutrition, communications and beef project areas. Wolfe also has attended the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference and has been a member of the county and area 4-H councils. She has served as president, vice president and historian of her 4-H club.

“4-H has made me a confident, determined person. It has encouraged me to set and meet goals and learn skills that will help me in the future,” Wolfe said.

A recent high school graduate, Wolfe will attend Iowa State University this fall and major in agricultural communications.

In Iowa, the 4-H program is a part of Iowa State University Extension and headquartered on the ISU campus in Ames. For more information about 4-H, how to get involved or how to apply for a 4-H scholarship, contact the local county office of ISU Extension.
