Boone County 4-H Member Receives Juergens Scholarship
AMES, Iowa -- A $1,500 scholarship has been awarded to a Boone County 4-H member. Courtney Tingwald, Woodward, has received the Juergens 4-H Scholarship sponsored by the Juergens family in honor of Dale and Ruth Juergens.
Tingwald, a nine-year 4-H member, is the daughter of Keith and Linda Tingwald. She has been active in the project areas of communications, citizenship and child development. She has been a member of the county 4-H council, county youth committee, area 4-H council, state 4-H council and the National 4-H Congress. She has received the Einsley Club Citizenship Award and the Leader of Tomorrow award. Tingwald has also served as the 4-H club president, vice president and secretary.
“4-H has made me who I am today and I am proud of that,” Tingwald said. “I wholeheartedly believe in the 4-H program and what it has to offer. I have gained valuable life skills that will aid in my success in the future.”
A recent Woodward-Granger High School graduate, Tingwald plans to attend Iowa State University, majoring in agriculture education.
