Monroe County 4-H Member Receives Bettis Scholarships
AMES, Iowa – A Monroe County 4-H member has been awarded a 4-H scholarship. Jarred Crall, Albia, received the Lloyd and Kathryn Bettis 4-H Scholarship in memory of Herbert Bettis.
Crall, a nine-year 4-H member, is the son of Tim and DeeAnn Crall. He has participated in beef, woodworking, photography and visual arts projects. He has received awards for showmanship and breeding. He served as president, secretary and recreation officer of his 4-H club. He also participated in the county 4-H council and county youth committee.
“4-H has helped create leadership and responsibility in myself,” Crall said. “It has shown me what I can do in agriculture in the future and help in my future occupation.”
Crall is a sophomore at Iowa State University majoring in agricultural engineering. He has been involved with engineering mentor groups and intramural sports.
